My Standards of Integrity
I am willing to live my life aligned with my standards of integrity, which include living consciously, in awareness, led by the heart, being accountable, spiritual and embodied, serving community, and growing connections to myself and others. I challenge myself to live without attachments or grasping, aversions or ignorance. These are my underlying, timeless truths that have been sharpened by my many teachers in several lineages and modalities.
These are the standards that I bring into relationship with others and that direct how I will work with you.
In 2014, I received Yoga Teacher Training Certification from Nina Be's Mindbody Centering Yoga in Durham, North Carolina. The training introduced me to Buddhist teachings, deepened a long term embodied yoga practice, and strengthened a commitment to spiritual practice.
In 2016, I made the first of many treks to the San Luis Valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in southern Colorado, to dive into silent meditation retreat. The sangha and teachers of Dharma Ocean provided a container that watered the seeds of healing from childhood wounds to attachments to identities and ideologies. The teachings and practices that I have received from the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa and Reggie Ray brought me to a place in my life of asking what I can do to reduce suffering of other beings on Earth.
At its simplest, Reiki is "a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing." It can be practiced hands-on or at a distance. The Reiki practitioner directs energy from the source to the client or receiver of the energy.
